Within our walls, you will find first class teams of teachers and students working and learning together.  MMS faculty and staff are dedicated to helping our students grow into successful young adults.  Our vision for all of our students:

Educating, Engaging, & Empowering Students to Become Lifelong Learners

Building Goals: 

Goal 1:  Reading 75% of MMS students will meet their individualized reading goal or be on grade level by the end of the 2020-2021 school year as measured by iReady.

Goal 2:  Math 60% of MMS students will meet their individualized math goal or be on grade level by the end the the 2020-2021 school year.

Goal 3:  Student Empowerment 84% of MMS students will fall in the first tier of the behavioral triangle, earning no more than 2 discipline referrals, during the 2020-2021 school year as measured by office discipline referrals.

Goal 4:  Attendance 90% of MMS students will attend school 90% of the time during the 2020-2021 school year.

Athletics/Activities:    Here is some general information on our Spring Sports and their respective coaches.  

Track: Coaches Gleeson, Simmons, Hooker and Nunnelly. Get up to date information from your coach by joining Remind101. More details on how to join Remind will be given out by your coach at a later date.

Earbuds: Students, if you need earbuds, we have them! Earbuds are available at the front office during the school year for $2.00. Parents: students need earbuds in many of their classes. They can bring their own from home or purchase a pair from school.

Fees:  Library fines and fees can be paid to Mrs. Strunk in the library. All textbook and other fees can be paid in the front office by cash or check made out to Mexico Public Schools. 


Lost and Found:   The Lost and Found is located just outside the Nurse's office.  Be sure to check for any missing items.  At the end of each semester all items are donated to the Help Center.

MMS Handbook: 

Parents, please be sure that you take the time to read and review the Middle School Handbook.  Our handbook is an important part of Middle School life.  It has our Vision, Mission, and policies within.  Your partnership helps us to live our Vision - "Education, Engaging, & Empowering Students to Become Lifelong Learners."  

MMS School Arrival and Departure Plans: 

Our school opens to all students at 7:30 am.  Only those students who ride a Mexico School bus may enter earlier.  Parents, please have this as part of your morning routine as we do not have supervision for your children before 7:30 am.  The bell rings at the end of the day at 3:00 pm.  Students must be off the school property by 3:15 pm unless staying for a school-sponsored event.  Students can not be standing around outside the building unsupervised in the morning or the afternoon.  The district is NOT responsible for your students outside of our school arrival and departure schedule.

MMS Food Service: 

All students at the Mexico Middle school receive free breakfast and lunch.  Students may purchase additional items, such as an extra milk, or ice cream when offered.  See the instructions below for meal extras.

Online Meal Payments for Meal Extras:

You may make online payments to your student's meal account for extras using Parent Portal.  The steps to do this are as follows:

1. Sign into Parent Portal; https://sdm.sisk12.com/MX/Default.aspx?Action=Parent (If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please contact your student's school office to set up an account)

2. Select Meals>Online Payment

3. Enter the dollar amount for each child

4. Click Proceed to Verification Step

5. Choose to Proceed to PayPal

Note:  You do not need a PayPal account to pay online, however if you open a PayPal account, payment information will not need to be re-entered every time a transaction is made.
