Within our walls, you will find first class teams of teachers and students working and learning together.  MMS faculty and staff are dedicated to helping our students grow into successful young adults.  Our vision for all of our students:

Educating, Engaging, & Empowering Students to Become Lifelong Learners

Building Goals:

Goal 1:  76% of students will meet their individualized reading goal or be on grade level by the end of the 2018-19 school year.

Goal 2:  84% of MMS students will fall in the first tier of the behavioral triangle, earning no more than 2 discipline referrals during the 2018-19 school year.

Goal 3:  90% of MMS students will attend school 90% of the time during the 2018-19 school year.

Athletics/Activities: 

The MMS Spring Athletic Calendar is available on both the MMS Athletic and the MMS Flyers pages.  This includes both Quiz Bowl and Track.

Attendance:  The January attendance incentive is Talk and Tech in PAWS.  This incentive runs from January 3 - January 31st.  


Band and Chorus:  Our 7G and 8G bands and choir are really working hard to get ready for the CMU Music festival.  We will update you on this event when more details are available.

Builders Club:  
 

Earbuds: Students, if you need earbuds, we have them!  Earbuds are available during the school year for $2.00! Parents, students need earbuds in many of their classes.  They can bring their own or purchase a pair from the school.


Fees:  Parents, please checks your student's fee in the portal and contact the school with any questions.  Any 8th grader with an outstanding fee will not be allowed to practice promotion or walk across the stage for 8th grade promotion.  


Lost and Found:   Kids, hang on to your items.  If you lose something - check Lost and Found.  
 
Quiz Bowl:   Our first home Quiz Bowl match is Tuesday, January 22 at 4:30 pm.  If Trivia is your thing or you are just interested to see a match - come on our and support our  7th and 8th grade students who will be matching brains in this exciting event.


Student Council (STUCO):  Student Council is gearing up for Valentines day!  Luv Pops will go start going on sale on January 28th, and will be delivered around Valentine's Day!  Spread some love and help support STUCO!

MMS Handbook: 

Parents, please be sure that you take the time to read and review the Middle School Handbook.  Our handbook is an important part of Middle School life.  It has our Vision, Mission, and policies within.  Your partnership helps us to live our Vision - "Education, Engaging, & Empowering Students to Become Lifelong Learners."  

MMS School Arrival and Departure Plans: 

Our school opens to all students at 7:30 am.  Only those students who ride a Mexico School bus may enter earlier.  Parents, please have this as part of your morning routine as we do not have supervision for your children before 7:30 am.  The bell rings at the end of the day at 3:00 pm.  Students must be off the school property by 3:15 pm unless staying for a school-sponsored event.  Students can not be standing around outside the building unsupervised in the morning or the afternoon.  The district is NOT responsible for your students outside of our school arrival and departure schedule.

MMS Food Service: 

All students at the Mexico Middle school receive free breakfast and lunch.  Students may purchase additional items, such as an extra milk, or ice cream when offered.  See the instructions below for meal extras.

Online Meal Payments for Meal Extras:

You may make online payments to your student's meal account for extras using Parent Portal.  The steps to do this are as follows:

1. Sign into Parent Portal; https://sdm.sisk12.com/MX/Default.aspx?Action=Parent (If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please contact your student's school office to set up an account)

2. Select Meals>Online Payment

3. Enter the dollar amount for each child

4. Click Proceed to Verification Step

5. Choose to Proceed to PayPal

Note:  You do not need a PayPal account to pay online, however if you open a PayPal account, payment information will not need to be re-entered every time a transaction is made.
